Does she give me energy, or take it away?

I was part of a selection process recently where we were asked this:

After meeting this candidate, did you have more or less energy?

That’s a fascinating question. As I reflected on it, I realized that the last candidate I had spoken with had sucked energy from me. It was clear.

Like most in this ecosystem, I connect with a lot of people. A lot of meetings. A lot of interactions.

Like most in this ecosystem, I’m trying to build things. Create things. Overcome things. This takes energy, in many forms.

So one of my new filters is whether the people I connect with leave me with more or less energy.

I’m doing my best to keep those who add energy around me.
